Walter L. Hirt, 65, of Miami, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, with Mickey L. Hirt officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Born May 26, 1957, in Marshall, Mo., he was the son of the late Charles Vernon Hirt Sr. and Eileen Marie Arnold Hirt. On May 3, 1974, he married Donna Kaye “Katie” Davis, who preceded him in death on June 22, 2021. He lived in Saline County his entire life, worked for Bill Bryan and was a jack-of-all-trades. He was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include two sons, Micheal Hirt (“Becka” Wood) and Matt Hirt of Miami; three grandchildren, Mikaela Hirt (Virgil Hostetter), Mariah Hirt (Bryce Bishop) and Micheal Hirt II “The Boss”; two brothers, Mickey Lee Hirt of Phillipsburg, Mo., and Mark Allen Hirt of Miami; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Walter was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Vernon Hirt; one niece, Leslie Marie Smith; a great-niece in infancy; and one nephew, Bobby Gene Hirt.
