Members of the Arrow Rock DAR Chapter, community members and Malta Bend American Legion Post 558’s color guard braved blustery winds and temperatures in the low 20s to honor veterans during a Wreaths Across America ceremony at Arrow Rock Cemetery. Saturday, Dec. 17, marked another year that the American Legion’s Malta Bend Memorial Post 558 provided an honor guard for the laying of wreaths at Arrow Rock Cemetery. Sponsored by the Arrow Rock DAR Chapter, wreaths were provided for veterans’ graves and to honor members of all branches of the United States military, and POW/MIA service personnel. The ceremony at Arrow Rock was one of the more than 3,400 ceremonial events across the United States, at sea, and abroad held that day. Contributed image
