Wildcat gridders blank another opponent

Seniors Chase Hemeyer and Brandon Terrill led the way, and the visiting Slater Wildcats improved their record to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the Central River League’s South Division with an 84-0 triumph at the BKN Thunder in Keytesville last Friday night.It was the second straight shutout for the ‘Cats after they blanked Santa Fe 82-0 in week four.The ‘Cats raced away to a 46-0 lead by the end of the first 12 minutes and led 62-0 at intermission.

Wildcats race past Chiefs on gridiron

For the first time since the COVID-altered 2020 season, the Slater Wildcats have won three games in one season on the gridiron.The Wildcats put on their track shoes and scored early and often, rolling to an 82-0 victory over the Santa Fe Chiefs at home last Friday night.Slater first-year head coach Mitchell Jenkins says the ‘Cats came ready to play.“I think we scored on our first nine possessions, and a lot of those one play and two-play drives,” Jenkins said.
