Valley junior Jace Lance, a 2020 graduate of Marshall High School, recently scored his 1,000th point as a Missouri Valley College basketball player. He is the 14th Viking in the history of the program to eclipse the mark. He currently sits at 1,010 points. The Vikings, who have won four of their last five and are 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, next play at Central Methodist in Fayette at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024. It was a record-setting day in the Burns Athletic Complex Saturday as the Missouri Valley College Lady Vikings won their sixth straight game, a 87-63 verdict over William Penn. Individually, Valley junior Gia Moore (1) needed 12 points to reach the 1,000-point milestone. All she did was score a program-record 36 points. Moore (1) drives to the basket to score a basket, the one that got her to the 1,000-point mark in her career. (Hobby King/Democrat-News)
