Steven R. Sullivan, 69, of rural Marshall, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Slater High School Gymnasium, with Dr. Michael Kateman officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the gym. Inurnment will be in the Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis or the Saline County Animal League in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Oct. 17, 1952, in Carrollton, he was the son of the late Marion and Oletha Wright Sullivan. On Jan. 14, 1976, in Peru, Ind., he married Diann Howell, and she survives of the home.
Also surviving are three daughters, Debbie Kiser and her husband, Giles, of Marshall, Sheri Hartell and her husband, Dan, of Chicago, Ill., and Angela Lemmon and her husband, Zach, of rural Miami; 10 grandchildren, Dakota Kiser, Danielle Strickland, Colton Kiser, Kenna Lemmon, Chase Lemmon, Randy Hartell, Dylan Hartell, Miranda Hartell, Joshua Hartell and Justin Hartell; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Sullivan of Keytesville; a half-brother; and a half-sister.
Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Cambridge Masonic Lodge #63 A.F. & A.M. in Slater, and was also a Shriner. He was a 1970 graduate of Keytesville High School. He worked for a number of years in the Shipping & Receiving department of Banquet Foods, later ConAgra Frozen Foods. For the past 20 years he was the Head of Maintenance for the Slater School District. He enjoyed being outdoors, mowing grass, being with family, and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
