Sharon Lynn Bargfrede, 78, from Sweet Springs Mo., passed away peacefully on Jan. 22, 2023, at her son’s home surrounded by loved ones.
Sharon was born on June 24, 1944, in Stockton, Calif., to Kermit Martin and Laura Warren. Sharon was raised by her mother and wonderful stepfather, Richard Rieks. Sharon moved to Bethany, Mo., when she was a teenager and was a graduate of Bethany High School. On April 5, 1964, Sharon married the love of her life, William F. Bargfrede, who preceded in death. Sharon worked at International Shoes, Banquet Foods and Walmart. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall where she volunteered much of her time. When she wasn’t caring for children, you could find her gardening, working on word puzzles, cooking or baking.
Sharon is survived by five children, Pamela Garner (Orland Young) of Marshall, Sherrie (Richard) Riley of Carrollton, Dorothy (William) Robison of Sweet Springs, Billy (Belinda) Bargfrede of Norburn, and Richard (Kimberly) Bargfrede of Sweet Springs; 19 grandchildren, Shawn Garner, Crystal Garner, Rick Riley, Justin (Kayla) Riley, Shane (Cassandra) Tresler, Fred Tresler, Brandi (Jacob) Terwort, Stephen (Brandi) Iliff, Jake Bargfrede, Zach Bargfrede, Jaydon Bargfrede, Cassidy Bargfrede, Cedrick Bargfrede, Maverick Bargfrede, Kendal Noel, Austin Koch, Ashley Bargfrede, Alyssa Bargfrede, Addison Bargfrede; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Anna) Rieks of Leander, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and people she claimed as family in her heart.
Sharon is preceded in death by her three parents; one sister, Sheila Cain; two brothers, Dick and John Rieks; two grandchildren, Charlie Garner and Russell Riley; one niece, Kimberly Cain; and one nephew, Scott Rieks.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Marshall First Assembly of God Church, 675 W. North St. Marshall, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Marshall First Assembly of God Church.
