Senior Marissa Tobar (20) and junior Kiki Simic played well for the Marshall Lady Owls’ volleyball team down the stretch, including in a three-set loss to Northwest-Hughesville Tuesday. Marshall’s season ended Thursday when the sixth-seeded Lady Owls lost to No. 3-seeded Excelsior Springs in the first round of the Class 3, District 15 Tournament at Odessa. The Lady Tigers won 25-15, 21-25, 25-14, 25-22. At the Class 1, District 15 Tournament at Alma, the host and secondseeded Santa Fe Lady Chiefs moved on to the semifinal round with a 25-3, 25-17, 25-7 win over No. 7-seeded La Monte. The Lady Chiefs will meet thirdseeded Northwest-Hughesville, which defeated No. 6-seeded Kingsville 258, 25-14, 25-18. Fifth-seeded Sweet Springs takes on No. 4-seeded Crest Ridge at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the other first-round match. The semifinals are at 6 and 7 p.m. Monday. The championship match is 6 p.m. Tuesday.
