Ray Finley, 78, of Marshall, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon Home Health and Hospice. Born Jan. 29, 1945, in Fayette, Mo., he was the son of the late Wallace Eli Finley Sr. and Elizabeth Alice Thomas Finley. Ray lived in Saline County his entire life and was a 1963 graduate of Malta Bend High School. On Aug. 20, 1966, he married Diana Lee Hayslip, who survives of the home. In earlier years Ray had worked for M.F.A. grocery store, Dolly Madison and Wonder Bread. Ray then went to work for Ecolab where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marshall.
In addition to his wife, Diana, he is survived by two sons, Darrin Finley (Christy) of Papillion, Neb., and Craig Finley (Beth) of Lee’s Summit; four grandchildren, Madison, Ava, Sammy and Cooper; one sister, Jeanette Willard of Gladstone; one brother, Melvin Finley of Lawson; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert E. Finley and Wallace E. Finley Jr.; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sammy and Betty Hayslip.
