Library board members began visiting other libraries a year ago last summer to see what other small towns offered. Board President Jackie Guthrey stated Marshall is behind. They then spent a day looking at libraries designed by SAPP Architects, which was ultimately hired by MPL. “Then there was the process of doing some mock ups of what it would look like and a floor plan, and we finished that at the end of last year,” Guthrey explained. “We were just one of (a few) libraries in the state that could have a sales tax measure, and we thought that was the fairest way to approach the community. … We wanted to do the right thing.”Contributed image
