In recognition of National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, Sept. 16, several schools participated in voter-registration drives. Both Democrat and Republican central committees volunteered to make the drives possible.According to Saline County Clerk Brittni Burton, Sweet Springs High School had 11 new registered voters, and Marshall High School saw four new registered voters.Volunteers assisting at the schools were Thom Ward (R) and Amy Miles (D) at Sweet Springs (pictured left), and Lee Hamilton (R) and Pat Peterson (D) at Marshall (pictured right).Contributed image
