Community members gathered on the Saline County Courthouse lawn Thursday evening, May 30, to enjoy the sounds of the Marshall Community Band.The band performed a variety of pieces, including “Fanfare and Star Spangled Banner,” “Proud Heritage,” “Gaelic Rhapsody,” “Satchmo!,” “The Diplomat,” “Centennial Overview,” “Yorkshire Ballad,” “The Golden Age of Broadway,” “MMB’s Diamond Jubilee,” “Assurance,” “George M. Cohan Patriotic Fantasy,” and “Uncle Sammy.”This summer marks the 103rd season of the Marshall Municipal Band. Performances will take place Thursday nights on the courthouse lawn. Another location will be determined later in the summer during renovations to the courthouse roof.Contributed image
