Two Marshall High School students competed in the Optimist Oratory State Finals competition the weekend of May 11-12. MHS senior Andrea Gooden (pictured) placed first at the event. She is the winner of a $2,500 scholarship. Andrea now advances to the International Optimist Oratory Championships to be held in St. Louis this July.
