Mary Ann Johnson, 75, of Houstonia, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, surrounded by her family at home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at Houstonia Baptist Church with her grandson, Johnathan Hiller, officiating and Willie Harlow assisting. Burial will follow in Houstonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Born Oct. 14, 1947, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Jackson Dillon and Minnie Vera Marquess Dillon. On June 4, 1965, she married Dale Johnson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2010. Mary lived in the Houstonia area her entire life where she and Dale raised their family. In addition to being a homemaker for the family, Mary had worked as a cook and did janitorial work at the schools in Houstonia, Hughesville, and Knob Noster. Mary was a faithful and dedicated member of Houstonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Debbie Martin (Ted) of Stilwell, Kan., Dorothy Hiller of Nelson, Vicki Tubbs (Scott) of Gunter, Texas, Kathy Swift (Dale) of rural Marshall and Mary Meyer (Kenny) of Concordia; five sons, Kenneth Johnson (Stephanie) of Hughesville, Rickey Johnson (Allison) of Houstonia, Bryan Dillon (Tracie) of Sweet Springs, Aaron Dillon of Sedalia and Scott Dillon (Nicole) of Houstonia; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; five brothers, John Dillon of Houstonia, Jack Dillon of Branson, Jerry Dillon of Marshall, Carroll Dillon of Marshall and Darrell Dillon of Houstonia; one sister, Dorothy Cornine of Houstonia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Lynn Hiller; twin brothers, Delbert and Albert Dillon; and three sisters, Kathryn Sleeper, Jane Kearney and Betty Bryson.
