Mary A. Bryson, 85, of Slater, died Sunday, May 8, 2022, at her home.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Slater, with the Rev. Paul List officiating. Burial was in Slater City Cemetery, with Richard E. Bryson, Roger D. Bryson, James M. Bryson, Steven W. Bryson, Charles M. Bryson and Marilyn F. Boston serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Cody Boston, Travis Bryson, Justin Bryson, Casey Bryson, Nolan Bryson, Josh Bryson and Richie Bryson. Visitation was from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Parkinsons Foundation in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Aug. 31, 1936, near Slater, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Nannie Fizer Morton. On Sept. 18, 1954, she married Richard M. Bryson, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1981. She is survived by five sons, Richard E. Bryson of
She is survived by five sons, Richard E. Bryson of Slater, Roger D. Bryson and his wife, Toni, of Marshall, James M. Bryson and his wife, Donna, of Slater, Steven W. Bryson of Slater, and Charles M. Bryson of Slater; and a daughter, Marilyn F. Boston and her husband, Chris, of Gilliam; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, A.C. Morton and Harold Morton, both of Slater; and two sisters, Mildred Bryson of Slater, and Lucille Durham of Polo.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Russell Bryson; four brothers, George Morton, Curtis Morton, Kenneth Morton and Edward Morton; and a sister, Betty Martin.
Mrs. Bryson was a longtime member and former Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Slater. She was a 1954 graduate of Slater High School. She worked at Slater Head Start before beginning a 30-year career as Quality Assurance Inspector at GE in Slater.
