Marilyn Maxine Ballenger Jenkins Henderson, 76, of Belgrade, Mo., formerly of Marshall, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born July 19, 1946, in Napton, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Ora Ballenger and Gertrude Saylor Ballenger. Marilyn worked as a nurse’s aide in nursing homes, was a caregiver, had worked at Rose Acre Farms, all in addition to being a homemaker for her family. She lived in the Marshall area for many years and moved to Belgrade in 2021. She was a Christian.
Survivors include one son, Byron Mitchell Jenkins (Bethany) of Mineral Point, Mo.; one daughter, Michelle Smith (Clark) of rural Marshall; five grandchildren, Desiree Thompson, Clark Smith Jr. (Beth), Amanda Medina (Luis), Corey Smith and Byron Mitchell Jenkins Jr.; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Ballenger of Slater; one sister, Erma Jean Evans of Marshall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Joshua Charles Smith; two sisters and eight brothers.
