October 4, 1954 – January 18, 2023

Marie Elaine (Thompson) Dominguez, 68, passed away on Jan. 18, 2023, at her home in Bluffton, S.C., surrounded by family and friends.

Marie was born Oct. 4, 1954, in Marshall, Mo., to Gregory J. Thompson and Mary Ellen (Barnes) Thompson. Marie graduated from Marshall High School in 1972 and attended Missouri Valley College.

Marie devoted her career life to teaching and coaching special needs individuals of all ages. Marie was a generous person whose laughter was contagious to all that encountered her. Her greatest love in life was her family and spending precious moments with her grandchildren. She taught others how to be kind and have compassion and forgiveness, bringing true joy to the world.

Marie is survived by her husband, David Dominguez; two daughters, Melody (Justin) Evans, Mary A. Dominguez; and four grandchildren, Haleigh, Jeremyah, Jacolby and Haddyx Evans of the home; six brothers, Gregory Thompson, Raymond (Nancy) Thompson, Tim (Debbie) Thompson, Damien (Carol) Thompson, Paul (Kim) Thompson, Joe (Susie) Thompson; and four sisters, Paula (John) South, Laura Vollmer, Mary Arnold and Rita (Kelly) Thompson.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Thompson.
