Marcia A. Sater, 66, of Marshall, Mo., died Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Marshall, with the Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, in Miller Memorial Gardens in Miller, Mo., with the Rev. Wally Baldwin officiating. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born July 14, 1956, in Monett, Mo., Marcia was the daughter of the late Howard R. Sater and Mary A. Glasscock Sater. She moved to Marshall in 1969, moving from St. Louis, and was a 1974 graduate of Marshall High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in church recreation from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, education hours from SWMU in Springfield, and a master’s degree in education from Lindenwood College. She returned to Marshall in 1980 and began her teaching career at Orearville School and part time at Hardeman School for a total of 31 years. She also taught English as a second language two nights a week. Marcia was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Jana Sater Standfast (Mike) of Miller, Mo.; one nephew, Christopher Gayer; and four cousins.
