Larry C. Cooper, 76, of Slater, passed away at his home, Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022.
Larry was born May 23, 1946, In Marshall, Mo., to the late Cedrick and Leola (Fizer) Cooper.
On Nov. 4, 1997, in Marshall, he married Linda Short. She survives of the home.
Larry worked at the Marshall Habilitation Center for many years, passing out medications and other duties before retiring.
After Larry retired from the Marshall Habilitation Center, he couldn’t stand to be retired so he began to do good deeds for the people in Slater and Marshall. He did so by caring for people and giving them rides wherever they needed to be.
He loved to fish and could tell many stories of the time he spent fishing.
Additional survivors include his children, Jeff Cooper (Carrie) of Marshall, Larry Cooper (Angel) of Marshall, Cheryl Johnson (Duane) of Dewitt, Diane Sullivan of California, Mo., Chris Cooper (Cindy) of Gilliam, Shawn Cooper (Lesley) of Marshall and Ginger Haynie (Travis) of Marshall; his siblings, Marlene VanHorn (David) of Marshall, R. W. Cooper (Paula) of Linn Creek, Mo., Kathy Pulliam (Jay) of Slater, and Brenda Howerton (Brett) of Ozark, Mo.; along with several grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; grandson, Larry Dwayne Cooper Jr.; and brother-in-law, Jerry Rader.
A celebration of life dinner will be held 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23, at 3160 W. Arrow St., Marshall, Mo.
