Jerry D. O’Neill, 85, of Liberty, died Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Slater City Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul List officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to the Saline Animal League.

He was born July 8, 1937, in Kansas City, Kan. On Jan. 6, 1986, in Gladstone, he married Donna A. Francis, and she survives of the home.

Also surviving are two daughters, Vicki Stephens and her husband, Mike, of Shawnee, Kan., and Diane Keller and her husband, Bob, of Shawnee, Kan.; six grandchildren, Kenzie Stephens, Shelby Stephens, Shae Stephens, Olivia Keller, Morgan Keller and Jacob Keller; and a sister, Sue Mock of Independence, Mo.

Mr. O’Neill was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired in 1997 from the FAA as an air traffic controller after more than thirty years of service.
