Helen L. Thomas, 94, of Marshall, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at her home.

No services will be held. Inurnment will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born Jan. 19, 1929, in Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Robert Leroy Leeper and Donnie E. Hilton. Helen lived in Marshall most of her life, was a graduate of Marshall High School and member of First Baptist Church. In 1949 she married Talmadge Eugene Thomas, who preceded her in death in 1995. Helen babysat for an untold number of kids through the years and was babysitting up until just a couple years ago. 

Survivors include two children, Bruce Thomas (Trisha) of rural Nelson and Linda Mae Thomas of Marshall; two granddaughters, Brenna Cortez of Marshall and Emily Page (Mike) of Slater; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Madgie Hunt.
