Did you catch last week’s “harvest moon?” September’s full harvest moon appeared Tuesday night, Sept. 17. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, it reached peak illumination at 9:34 p.m. Central Standard Time. This year the harvest moon was also a supermoon – there will be a total of four supermoons this year. One was visible in August as well as Tuesday night, and the next two will appear in October and November. A supermoon appears much larger than other full moons because it is closer to the Earth.Contributed image
