Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Pastor Molly Moore officiating. Burial will be Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Fairmount Cemetery at Middletown, Mo. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Concordia in care of the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 10, 1944, in Louisville, Ky., to Winston Douglas Nold and Edith Eileen (Slavens) Nold. After World War II, Craig’s father was employed as an engineer by Douglas Aircraft, so the family moved to the Saint Louis area, where he attended elementary schools. Next he attended Western Military Academy in Alton, Ill., graduating in 1962. He attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo., for a year, then transferred to Drury College in Springfield, Mo., where he earned his degree in January 1967.

After college graduation, he worked for the federal Department of Indian Affairs in Gallup, N.M. When his father-in-law offered a job with the Slater News-Rustler, Slater, Mo., he moved to Slater and worked for the Slater and Sweet Springs newspapers. His next line of work was for Burdman Auto Parts, managing the Slater store and then doing area supervising work. His last line of business was as a real estate broker in Marshall, Mo., then serving as executive for the Central Missouri Board of Realtors, using his computer and internet expertise to take the board online.

After he retired, he engaged in more of what he enjoyed: driving southwestern Colorado Jeep roads and exploring unpaved Alaska highways. He enjoyed fishing, catching trout in Missouri and Colorado and salmon in Alaska. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

He is survived by his son, Raymond Nold (Fran) of Sweet Springs, Mo.; lifelong companion and friend Cynthia Nold of Slater; brother Winston Nold of Larkspur, Colo.; grandchildren, Ada Nold and Xander England; along with niece Laura Davies and nephews Mason and Tyler Nold.

Craig was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Nold.
