Christopher D. “Strut” Calvert, 45, of Slater, Mo., died Sunday, July 9, 2023, at The Living Center in Marshall, Mo.

 Born July 5, 1978, in Columbia, Mo., he was the son of the late Donald Dawayne Calvert and Venita Irene Carter Calvert. He lived in Slater most of his life, moving from Harrisburg, Mo., and was a 1997 graduate of Slater High School. Strut was a sports fanatic! He loved baseball, NASCAR, wrestling, sports trivia, music and movies. He was very outgoing, a prankster and joker who loved to make people laugh. There was never a dull moment with Strut.
 Survivors include his sister, Shelly Calvert of Slater; his dog, Molly and his cat, Sammie (who were both very important to him); two uncles, Larry Calvert (Cindy) of Moberly, Mo. and Bobby Colley (Debbie) of Clark, Mo.; two aunts, Sandy Brubaker (Tim) of Moberly and Debbie Calvert of Centralia, Mo.; numerous cousins; and many friends who he considered family.
 In addition to his parents, Strut was preceded in death by his grandparents; and several uncles.
