For the first time in over two years, the Marshall Owls have won two straight basketball games. The Owls ended their 17game losing streak in the North Central Missouri conference with a win at home over Hannibal Friday.

The Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra will continue its “Salute to 60 Season” on Sunday, Feb. 19. This third concert of the anniversary season will bring back one of the audience’s most requested and respected area professional pianists. Mia Kim, Professor of Piano and Head of the Piano Area at the University of Central Missouri – Warrensburg, first performed with MPO in 2011. On Sunday, Dr. Kim will play Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 with the orchestra and a contemporary solo work: The Garden of Eden Suite III, Rag Fantasy: “The Serpent’s Kiss,” written by American composer William Bolcom. This admission-free concert, underwritten by Community Bank of Marshall and Exchange Bank, will be held in the Harold L. Lickey Auditorium of Bueker Middle School in Marshall and will begin at 2:30 p.m. A meet-and-greet reception will immediately follow the concert.
