Diane Schlesselman’s Marshall Lady Owls started slowly, made up the difference in the middle two quarter but eventually lost 42-38 at Fulton Friday. The Lady Owls were down 16-6 at the end of the first quarter but rallied to grab a 27-26 lead after three quarters.
The Marshall Owls’ boys wrestlers battled four different teams at the Carrollton Duel Friday. The Owls came away with a 1-3 record- beating Lone Jack 54-16 but losing to Penney of Hamilton 54-36, Mexico 39-35 and Chillicothe 49-21.
Having trouble making shots, the second-seeded Santa Fe Lady Chiefs eventually succumbed to the No. 1-seeded Lone Jack Lady Mules 44-32 in the championship game of the I-70 Conference Tournament at Alma Saturday.
Slater sophomore sharpshooter Brandon Terrill was on the mark, registering 34 points, and the visiting Wildcats needed every one of them in a 54-50 Central Activities Conference win at Community Friday. Terrill scored eight points in the first quarter and 12 in the first half.
The tough start to the season for Rachel Harding’s Slater Lady Wildcats continued with a 53-34 Central Activities Conference game at Community Friday. The Lady Trojans jumped to a 20-9 lead after one quarter and led 31-19 by halftime.

After playing to a 9-9 tie with No. 4-seeded Concordia in the first quarter, the sixth-seeded Sweet Springs’ Lady Greyhounds’ production dropped off, while CHS’s production improved.
Marshall’s wrestlers swept a North Central Missouri Conference doubleheader versus the visiting Mexico Bulldog teams Thursday. The Lady Owls recorded three pins and a decision, en route to a 39-30 win in the opening 14-bout contest.

The Missouri Valley College eSports Call of Duty: Vanguard team met Chadron State (Neb.) in the National championship final of the NACE Starleague Open Plus Division II Tournament Wednesday evening inside the Missouri Valley eSports Arena. The Vikings won the best-of-five series, 3-0, to capture the program’s first Call of Duty National championship.
