‘Hounds lose slugfest to Jamestown

Sweet Springs was poised to win its second straight game — up 13-7 on visiting Jamestown in the top of the seventh on May 5.
In a couple of games that contrasted in styles, the Marshall Lady Owls came out on top at the MHS Sports Complex.
Overall, the Marshall Owls’ golf team finished well down the pack of 11 full teams that competed in the Class 4, District 4 Tournament on the Outlaw Course at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville May 7.
The tennis season for the Marshall Owls ended when they lost a Class 1, District 4 semifinal match to Higginsville at Odessa May 6.
In the top of the fourth, the sixth-seeded Tipton Lady Cardinals had trimmed Sweet Springs’ lead to 2-1.
