SPORTS EDITOR With the top four finishers in each event keeping their seasons alive, the Slater Wildcats had one individual and two relay teams do so at the Class 1, District 3 track and field meet at Glasgow Saturday.
SPORTS EDITOR Slater golfers competed at the Class 1, District 2 golf tournament at Heritage Hills in Moberly Thursday. Salisbury won the team title with a 326, and Marceline was second with a 353.

SPORTS EDITOR The dual portion of the boys’ tennis season came to an end for the Marshall Owls as they lost their Class 1, District 13 semifinal at Warrensburg. The top-seeded Tigers won the dual 5-0 and led two of the other four matches that were still being played.
After dropping two straight games, including a heart-breaker to I-70 Conference rival Concordia, Andrew Smith’s Santa Fe Chiefs closed out the regular season on a winning note, downing the visiting Saint Paul Saints 6-3 in Waverly Tuesday.
SPORTS EDITOR Four nights after suffering a gut-wrenching 2-1 loss to Hannibal that cost the Marshall Lady Owls’ soccer team a shot at the North Central Missouri Conference title, the Lady Owls overcame missing some key cogs and shut out Fulton 4-0 on the road Tuesday. The win solidified the Lady Owls in second place in the league with an 8-2 mark and improved them to 16-4 overall.
