After a fast start, winning their first two games, Diane Schlesselman’s Marshall Lady Owls have dropped two straight. After dropping a 67-40 decision at home to Boonville Tuesday, the Lady Owls lost 63-23 at Centralia Thursday.

With 10 eligible swimmers, Marshall took part in the meet at Blue Springs South High School Tuesday. In duals, Marshall defeated Smith-Cotton 94-54 and Sacred Heart 99-39 but lost to Warrensburg 9779Ray-Pec 161-59 and the host school 238-37.
Sweet Springs’ hopes of playing in its first state football title game in 37 years were dashed by the visiting Bishop LeBlond Golden Eagles Saturday. The Golden Eagles scored touchdowns on their first four possessions, led 30-14 at the break and won 44-22 in the 8man state semifinal round.

A long night of basketball at Marshall High School Tuesday ended with visiting Boonville sweeping the two varsity games. The Lady Owls dropped the opener 67-40, the Owl boys lost the nightcap 73-54.
Despite sophomore Brandon Terrill and junior Grayson Zdybel combining to score 48 points, the third-seeded Slater Wildcats dropped a 57-55 upset decision to No. 6-seeded Fayette in the first round of the 92nd Annual Glasgow Invitational Tuesday.
