Sophomore Brandon Terrill and freshman Ben Gochenour were clutch down the stretch, and the Slater Wildcats — who gave up two double-digit leads — scored 10 straight points to break a 53-53 tie and went on to claim a 6459 Central Activities Conference victory over visiting Sturgeon Friday. The Wildcats seemingly took control of the game with a scoring spree late in the third quarter.
For two quarters, the host Slater Lady Wildcats hung right with the Sturgeon Lady Bulldogs. But a lengthy cold spell in the third quarter doomed the Lady ‘Cats, and they eventually lost the Central Activities Conference game 56-43 in front of a Courtwarming crowd at SHS.

Summer Young’s Marshall Lady Owls’ wrestling team claimed wins in two duals last week. The Lady Owls beat Centralia 45-18 and South Callaway 48-12.
In a matchup of No.10-ranked Santa Fe and Pilot Grove, a team which was receiving votes in the Class 1 poll of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association last week, the Lady Chiefs prevailed 56-52 Monday. The difference mainly was from the free-throw line, where Santa Fe was 23 for 34, compared to 11 for 17 for the host Lady Tigers.

Juniors Tanner Dohrman tossed in 20 points and Braden Knipmeyer 18, as the visiting Sweet Springs Greyhounds defeated the Santa Fe Chiefs 61-42 Friday. The two teams were knotted 7-7 after the first quarter, but Sweet Springs started taking control from there.
It was a very good meet for the Marshall Lady Owls’ swimmers at Warrensburg Thursday. The Lady Owls recorded one relay and three individual event victories.
