Machholz inducted into MHS Wrestling H of F

Sports Editor In addition to a lot of matches taking place at the 49th Annual Marshall Wrestling Invitational Saturday, some awards were handed out by the Marshall Wrestling Alumni Club (MWAC). According to a release from board president Wick Jacobi, “ The Marshall Wrestling Alumni Club is a non-profit organization with the purpose of spreading the benefits of the sport of wrestling.

MVC A.D. selected for induction into Mo Sports Hall of Fame

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame has announced its latest induction class, and selected are long-time former Head Coach of the men’s wrestling program, and current Missouri Valley College Athletic Director Mike Machholz, along with the men’s wrestling teams from 1996-2005. Machholz was selected for induction after his 30 years of work building and leading the men’s wrestling program at Missouri Valley.

Former Valley rodeo cowboy captures World Championship

Former Missouri Valley College men’s rodeo cowboy Jess Pope captured the 2022 Bareback Riding World Championship, along with placing first in the average at the 2022 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nev. Pope captured his first world championship after finishing on top of the prize earnings standings in Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association bareback riding.
