The birth of a Promise

A little over 2,000 years ago, Caesar Augustus was the emperor of the Roman Empire. At one point, he decreed that everyone must be registered (sort of like a modern day census). So Joseph and Mary had to travel from their home in Nazareth to the city of Joseph’s birth, the city of Bethlehem, which was just south of Jerusalem and about 90 miles from their home.
