In lieu of recent events, Marshall School District Superintendent Carol Maher shared the following statement on Sunday evening, May 15: Because a multitude of information and misinformation is being spread throughout the community about recent events involving members of the Marshall High School family, this statement is made to ensure Marshall Public Schools communicates using appropriate and accurate information based on facts, not hearsay. The Board of Education and MPS Administration strongly encourage all Marshall residents to allow the proper procedures to take place so all involved may be represented fairly.
Saline County Ambulance transported two people to a Columbia Hospital Sunday afternoon, May 15, after the vehicle they were in crashed on Interstate 70. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m.

As part of its requirements under the Affordable Care Act, Fitzgibbon Hospital has conducted its fourth comprehensive health needs assessment, which was approved by the Board of Trustees at its April meeting. This is the fourth such assessment conducted in 12 years. The needs assessment identified the most pressing health needs in Saline County as:

David Reinke has been chosen to continue his career in the Marshall School District as the assistant superintendent. He is a distinguished educator with over 20 years of experience in education. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Arkansas-Monticello. Reinke also earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Educational Specialist degrees from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
