World-renowned Budweiser Clydesdales to appear in Marshall

MARSHALL – The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933, is scheduled to make an appearance in the area on Tuesday, Aug 16, in conjunction with theMissouri State Fair. The eight-horse hitch will be harnessed and hitched to the famous red beer wagon at the Marshall square at 6 p.m. on Aug. 16. Make your way to the Missouri State Fair and check the schedule in the Clydesdale tent for all other parading days.On Aug. 18-20, the “Gentle Giants,” as they are often referred to, will participate in the Missouri State Fair Draft Horse Show. The draft show begins at 5:45 p.m.

Marshall Municipal Band preps for a week full of concerts

While the end of the season is rapidly approaching, the Marshall Municipal Band doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. This Thursday’s concert will be the 12th concert of the band’s 101st season and the first of four performances in just eight days. The free concert will begin at 7 p.m. on east lawn of the Saline CountyCourthouse. The concert will open with R. B. Hall’s “The New Colonial March.” Hall was a contemporary of Sousa and he dedicated the march to JohnBehr, the director of the famed Germania Band of Boston.

SEDALIA — Discover nature with the Missouri Department of Conservation at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia Aug. 11-21. Visit MDC’s Conservation building from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the kid’s Xplor Zone from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to see MDC’s mobile snake exhibit, a new macroinvertebrate exhibit, and more.
