Missouri Valley College President Dr. Bonnie Humphrey has announced that the college will receive a $1,237,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will be administered over three years.
The driver of a semi-truck that hit a cow on Highway 65 in Marshall Wednesday morning, June 22, did not sustain any serious injuries. It was reported to The Marshall Democrat-News that there were four cows in the roadway and the driver attempted to swerve to avoid hitting them, however two were hit in the process.
The Marshall Municipal Services Street Department worked to repair cuts that had been made on Morrow Street, near Odell Avenue, early Thursday morning, June 23. The holes had been made initially to disconnect the sewer and gas lines from the old IGA building prior to it being demolished. The road reopened by mid-afternoon.
