Fitzgibbon Hospital When talking about health issues affecting rural communities, one might be surprised about a rising trend occurring right here in Saline County and rural communities across our country. At Fitzgibbon Hospital, emergency personnel have seen a rise in fentanyl overdoses.
During the Saline County Commission meeting on Thursday, Aug. 18, Treasurer Jared Brewer reviewed the present sales tax numbers. The numbers for each tax are as follows: Sales Tax $122,646.59 (up $7,851.66 from last month; up $8,749.04 from last year); Law Enforcement Tax $91,984.73 (up $5,888.74 from last month; up $6,561.63 from last year); Use Tax $87,957.16 (up $48,363.20 from last month; up $33,455.70 from last year); Law — Sunset $30,756.14 (up $2,223.88 from last month; up $2,290.13 from last year); and Economic Development $122,999.23 (up $9,023.29 from last month; up 9,066.58 from last year).
