JEFFERSON CITY — Join two experienced Dutch oven chefs for a fun demonstration of campfire cooking at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Arrow Rock State Historic Site. The demonstration will take place at the state historic site with the exact location to be announced. Reservations are not required.

Dear Doctors: Our mom is 79 years old and in good health. She was lonely after our dad died, and went into assisted living to be near other people. The Marshall Public Schools S.A.F.E. (Seeking Acceptance for everyone) Program and the Missouri Valley Community Action Agency are collaborating once again to provide a “one-stop shop” for community and school resources for the residents of Saline County. Project S.H.A.R.E (Safety, Health and Resource Education) will be held on August 11th from noon to 5 p.m. at a new location this year – the Martin Community Center. Project S.H.A.R.E. exists to bring needed services and resources, especially those for students returning to school, to one location. This prevents families from having to visit several different locations to get the help they need.

“It will be a busy week for the Marshall Municipal Band as we prepare for two patriotic themed concerts,” said director Kevin Lines. The band’s first concert will take place Thursday evening, June 30, on the east lawn of the Saline County Courthouse.
