Sedalia – State Fair Community College and its extended campus locations in Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Jefferson City, and Whiteman Air Force Base will be closed February 17 in observance of Presidents Day.

The following are candidates running in contended races for seats on the Marshall City Council in the April election: (Ward 1) Harold Clayton Jr. and John Allen Jr.; and (Ward 3) Jeremy Gibson and Kristen Riley. SEDALIA – Current and prospective vendors are invited to the Sedalia Area Farmers’ Market vendor interest and food safety training meeting to be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20. The interactive training will be presented at State Fair Community College and will include opportunities to ask questions. All vendors must attend the current training prior to selling at the market, which is in its 17th season.
On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the annual survey of cash rents and leases began. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has sent more than 241,000 surveys to farmers across the United States. Cash rents for irrigated and non-irrigated cropland and permanent pasture will be collected in the survey and will be used to find estimates of the current year’s rental rates.
