“I honestly did not know much about it and visited with citizens throughout the community,” Marshall Mayor Dewey Hendrix said of the Foster Grandparent Program on Friday, May 6. “What I have found is a great appreciation for all of you, what you do … You ladies, gentlemen here — city of Marshall appreciates everything that you do. … It is a great program — once I investigated and saw what you guys were doing.”
Seventy-five participants stepped out to support the Mental Health Association of Saline County by participating in a 5k run/walk on Sunday, May 1. The event began at Indian Foothills Park, in Marshall, with two speakers.
