American Legion Post 558 member Earle Spencer was honored for his military service with a Quilt of Valor, awarded at a recent post meeting. The handmade quilt was presented by Donna Rothermich, a Quilts of Valor member.
The American Legion Department of Missouri held their Fall Conference at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City on Oct. 21-23. This included all four components of the American Legion Family, which includes the American Legion Auxiliary, the American Legion Riders and the Sons of the American Legion, in concert with the American Legion.
MARSHALL (Oct. 25, 2022) — The Missouri Valley College Division of Fine Arts presents the MVC Theatre Ensemble’s production of “30 Neo-Futurist Plays from Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, 30 Plays in 60 Minutes,” by Greg Allen, Nov. 3-5 at 7:30 p.m., nightly in the Eckilson- Mabee Theatre. This fast-paced evening of theater is based on the Neo-futurist aesthetic which is an evolving, multi-faceted theatrical aesthetic built on a belief in truthful, direct communication between the performer and the audience. This movement was spearheaded by Greg Allen at the Chicago-based Neofuturist Theater where, “Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind,” has been performed since 1988.

On Monday, Oct. 17, several members of the Saline County Career Center’s DECA chapter attended the Tucker Leadership Day held in Liberty, Mo. The Tucker Leadership Lab takes place at William Jewell College where there are several challenge courses available. Students are able to learn valuable team building skills by completing various challenges on the course. DECA members are divided into teams. These challenges help to create better leaders and encourage team growth and personal development.
