The Optimist Club of Marshall met Saturday, Dec. 10, at Bloomfield’s Family Restaurant. Gary Pennock gave the invocation, and guest Valerie Summers led the Pledge of Allegiance. Carol Grote presented entries in the annual kids’ Christmas coloring contest, and the club members selected the winners.
Vernita Tanner Hemme will be celebrating her 100th birthday. MARSHALL (Nov. 28, 2022) — The MVC Education Division and Murrell Library participated in Jumpstart's Read for the Record, which is an early literacy campaign. This event brings millions of adults and children together to read the same book on the same day all around the United States. MVC worked with several Saline County school districts, Head Start, local childcare providers, and Marshall Public Schools and reached over 3,000 listeners.
