JEFFERSON CITY — Angela Littrell, President and CEO of Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, Mo., was elected to a one‐year term as president of the Mis‐souri Hospital Association’s Central District Council. Her term began Jan. 1. The first meeting will occur in March.
Registration to play baseball or softball for the Marshall Little League Ball Association in the 2023 season is open now. According to a flyer, the divisions are Minors (ages 8-11); Majors (11-12); Junior League (13-14); and Senior League (15-16).

There are few challenges in life that affect the emotion and dynamic of a family then the loss of a child. For expectant moth‐ers, the potential loss of their baby in the womb is something that can be a source of concern and anxiety well past the first trimester. For Blue Mound, Mo.‐ area resident Emma Brown and her husband, Clint, the tragedy hit home as they lost their son Charlie 17 weeks into the preg‐nancy. But the couple has de‐cided to turn the tragedy into an opportunity to be a blessing to others through their newly es‐tablished not‐for‐profit organi‐zation called Charlie’s Light.
ROLLA — Missouri University of Science and Technology announces the names of students who made the honor list for the Fall 2022 semes‐ter. To be included on the honor list, students must have carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade point averages of 3.2 or above out of a pos‐sible 4.0.
President Matt Pennock called the meeting of the Optimist Club of Marshall to order on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Bloomfield's Family restaurant. Chad Unterreiner led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Gary Pennock offered the invocation.

The public is invited to gather on the Mar‐shall square on Sunday, March 5, at noon to watch the culmination of a Cereal Drive that kicked off on Jan. 1. The cereal boxes will be lined up like dominoes and tipped to tumble around the courthouse. The community is in‐vited to count down, cheer along, and watch the cereal boxes fall. All cereal will be donated to area food pantries on National Cereal Day, March 7.
