VBS kicks off with obstacle course, bounce house

“Twists and Turns” Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church in Marshall will begin with a kickoff on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 4:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. There will be an obstacle course with a bounce house, food and music, and a whole lot of fun. This will be a time of registration for VBS which will begin each evening at 5:30 p.m. This is a free event for the children of our community, Aug. 6-10. Transportation is available by calling 660886-5546.

SFCC invites public to Welcome Back Bash

SEDALIA – State Fair Community College will hold a Welcome Back Bash at 10 a.m. on Aug. 23 for all new and returning students. The event is open to the public and is designed to expose students to different opportunities on campus and within the community. Campus departments, clubs, athletic teams, community organizations and businesses will have booths set up along the sidewalks of the Sedalia campus.

3 MHS vocalists selected for Missouri Choral Director’s Association All-State Festival Choir

Three Marshall High School students, Colleen Allen (left), Joseph Leavitt (center), and Bryan Orozco (right), were honored as members of the Missouri Choral Director’s Association All-State Festival Choir on July 17 and 18. All three students auditioned in mid-September for the All-District Choir, were selected to perform with that group, and auditioned for the next level. They were among around 100 high school student performers.
