The Marshall Writers’ Guild met at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Marshall Public Library. Present were Vice-President Sharon Eiker-Dyer, Holly Forsman, Ed and Authorene Phillips, Carol Raynor, Sean Rea, President Ed Richards, Treasurer Carole Schaefer, Secretary Sidney Sullivan, the Rev. Mary Williams, and guests Sam Dyer and Shannon Williams. Absent were Melanie Dees Campbell, Rayvin Freeman, Pat Hammer, Eveleth Hill, Mayor Vince Lutterbie, Irene Sims, Wicky Sleight, and Virginia Sprigg.

The Marshall Monday Club met on Monday, Oct 9, in the Community Room of the “Rock” Presbyterian Church for its annual fall luncheon. First Vice President Bonnie Faris called the meeting to order and introduced Caleb Petet, Superintendent of Marshall Public Schools, who presented the program. He spoke about the state of the Marshall School District. With the passing of last year’s school levy, a new elementary school will be built near the Spainhower School. New architectural plans were distributed to show the design.
The Marshall High School Theatre Department is proud to announce that their fall musical is “The Drowsy Chaperone” by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison.
