Rebecca Brzuchalski was recognized for her longevity as certified public accountant. In November, Brzuchalski attended the MOCPA Awards Celebrations, where she was recognized for having been a CPA for 50 years. Along with Brzuchalski, other CPAs were honored for 35 years in the profession, and new CPAs were honored for having recently passed the exam. There were two conferences, one in St. Louis and the other in Kansas City at The College Basketball Experience, where Brzuchalski attended. “What I found really interesting is of the people who had been members for 50 years, there were 64 of us,” she noted. “Out of the 64, how many do you think were women? Four.” Brzuchalski said of the scholarship recipients and the newly passed CPAs it was about half and half. “They have really progressed a lot.” Brzuchalski has been a certified public accountant for 50 years and operated her own business for 48. She hopes to be recognized in two years for being a 50-year business owner.
