University of Missouri clarifies policy forcing student journalists to name confidential sources
COLUMBIA (Jan. 12, 2024) — After working with the Student Press Freedom Initiative at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), the University of Missouri System committed in writing that student journalists will not be forced to give administrators the names of sources in sensitive cases like sexual assault.

Marshall Writers’ Guild selects new officers
The Marshall Writers’ Guild met Thursday, Dec. 21, after a lunch at Claudia’s Bed and Breakfast. Present were Vice-President Sharon Eiker-Dyer, Holly Forsman, Sean Rea, President Ed Richards, Treasurer Carole Schaefer, Secretary Sidney Sullivan, the Rev.
