The Marshall Kiwanis Club held its regular meeting at noon Tuesday, June 6, at Montague’s. Keith Vessell offered the invocation, and former club president Pam LaFrenz led the Pledge of Allegiance and called the meeting to order with 22 members in attendance.
June 12-16 is designated as National Men’s Health Week, the creation of which was signed into law on May 31, 1994 by then President Bill Clinton. The statistics are telling, as women are 100% more likely than men to visit their doctor for annual exams and preventive services, according the National Institutes of Health. Additionally, one in two men will be diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lifetime, compared with one in three women.
