JEFFERSON CITY (July 18, 2023) — Arrow Rock State Historic Site visitor center will host an exhibit daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1 through Oct. 16 featuring rugs made or designed by former members of the Big Muddy Rug Hooking Guild.
The Marshall Kiwanis held their regular meeting at noon, Tuesday, July 18, at Montague’s. Steve Hartwig offered the invocation, and former Club President Pam LaFrenz led the pledge of allegiance and called the meeting to order with 18 members and one guest in attendance.

JEFFERSON CITY – Though it’s been a drier start to summer than usual, seasonal growth along Missouri’s roadways still needs to be mowed. The Missouri Department of Transportation urges motorists to use caution when encountering tractor mowers near the shoulders of interstates and other busy roadways.
The Marshall Kiwanis Club held its regular meeting at noon Tuesday, July 11. Club President Chad Unterreiner offered the invocation, led the Pledge of Allegiance, and called the meeting to order with 24 members and five guests in attendance.
Managing Editor A Kool-Aid stand was set up on East North Street on Saturday, July 8, as some area kids were raising funds for Boy Scout and Girl Scout camps. Several Kool-Aid and lemonade stands have popped up throughout Marshall this summer as budding entrepreneurs looked to create savings for various goals – one young man had hopes of buying a gaming station for himself.
In June, the Optimist Club of Marshall held a family picnic where they commemorated the lives of Kyle Gibbs and Gene Cassell Sr., Optimist members who passed in 2022, with the unveiling of two park benches in their honor. The Optimist Club was honored to have both Kyle’s and Gene’s family in attendance to see the dedication.

JEFFERSON CITY — With the Fourth-of-July coming up, the Missouri Department of Conservation encourages people to look for red, white, and blue in nature through a holiday hike, bird watching, backyard fun, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
The meeting of the Optimist Club of Marshall was called to order by President Matt Pennock on Saturday, June 24, at Bloomfield’s Family Restaurant. The recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Wayne McReynolds, followed by the invocation given by Gary Pennock.
