COLUMBIA — The American Red Cross has seen a shortfall of about 25,000 blood donations in the first two months of the summer, which makes it hard to keep hospital shelves stocked with lifesaving blood products. By making an appointment to give blood or platelets in August, donors can keep the national blood supply from falling to shortage levels.

“Twists and Turns” Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church in Marshall will begin with a kickoff on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 4:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. There will be an obstacle course with a bounce house, food and music, and a whole lot of fun. This will be a time of registration for VBS which will begin each evening at 5:30 p.m. This is a free event for the children of our community, Aug. 6-10.
