One of the many health observances scheduled for the month of October is a focus on health literacy, which is a significant factor in the health of residents of Saline County. Low health literacy is significant enough that Fitzgibbon Hospital sighted the need in its Community Health Needs Assessment compiled earlier in 2025 and approved by the Board of Trustees.
