Betty J. Scott, 89, of Marshall, Mo., died Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Apple Ridge Care Center in Waverly, Mo.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2023, at Malta Bend Cemetery, with William W. Harlow officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the American Mental Health Society or Apple Ridge Care Center in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born Aug. 4, 1933, in Godair, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Cullen Cecile Bivins and Lois Naomi Zook Bivins. She lived in Marshall most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshall. In her younger years, she worked in the cotton fields, later working at International Shoe Factory and Banquet Foods. She loved flower gardening, especially irises.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Scott of Mountain Home, Ark., and Sherry Scott of West Memphis, Ark; four grandchildren, Melinda Prince (Michael), Julie Hein (Chris), Karen Goodman (Andrew Souder) and James Goodman (Ashley); several great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Walker (Frank) of rural Warsaw; a son-in-law, James Goodman Sr.  of Peace Valley, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Ann Goodman; and seven siblings, George Wesley Bivins, Rhoda Mae Ahart, Emma Lee Page, Junior Bivins, Cecile Naomi Crafton, Paul Wayne Bivins and Donald Ray Bivins.
