Benjamin R. Watson, 80, of Slater, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at his home.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery at Sharon, with the Rev. Terry Sandwith officiating. Friends may call Thursday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to the Lafayette Regional Health Center in care of Weiker Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 10, 1943, in Atoka, Okla., he was the son of the late Lloyd and Burl Dine Estes Watson.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Suzette Large of the home; four sisters, Susan Derksen of Simi Valley, Calif., Charlotte Tran of Fremont, Calif., Karman Watson of Brentwood, Calif., and Sandi Capitani of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Mr. Watson had worked in carpentry and was known as a “Jack of All Trades.” He enjoyed old cars, classical music, and was a guitar enthusiast. He had lived in Slater since 2014, moving from San Diego. He spent most of his life in the San Francisco area.
